Aubrey Noelle

Jim and Jen finally had their baby! I don't have all the details but understand that she has red hair (not surprising considering her parents). I'm told she is 7 lbs, 2 oz and is 21 inches long. I hope to see her tomorrow. This picture was sent to me from Gail's cell phone so it is not the best quality. Also, it was taken right after she was born so she has all that gook in her eyes. I don't remember what that is for, but Abigail had it as well.

Happy Valentine's Day

I had a great time this weekend with Jeromy! On Friday night we went to a Winter Cookout at church. This was an activity for couples. While there we watched the movie Fireproof. The movie was very good (much better than I expected). I would definitely suggest it for any married couple to see. Honestly, if you're not married you will still enjoy it. Then, we headed home for a full nights sleep. (Abigail was spending the night with Grandma Sanderson, Alex, and Elena)

When we woke up Saturday morning, I made Jeromy breakfast of pancakes and bacon. We then went over to Grandma's house to spend time with Abigail before we headed off to an early dinner at Red Lobster. When we finally got home we played the card game "hand and foot." Jeromy won, of course, but just barely. We then watched the movie Hancock. It was the first time we had watched it. It was okay, but it had some shady plot areas that didn't totally make sense. We then had a second full nights sleep.

This morning, Jeromy dropped me off at Grandma's and headed to church to work AV. After Grandma was ready, we went to church as well. After church and lunch, Jeromy headed to work and the rest of us headed to Willard, OH to visit Jewel (see a picture on Abigail's blog). It was a really nice visit. Jewel was very happy to finally meet Abigail. We are now all at home relaxing. I actually think I am going to bed soon and leave Jeromy in charge of Abigail. That sounds like a good idea.

Blow Out!!!

Tonight Abigail and I went out to dinner with Michelle. After we ate, Michelle and I were sitting around talking and Michelle was holding Abigail. She kept saying that it smelled like Abigail had pooed. But I said that she had already pooed today so that it must be just gas (Abigail has some really nasty gas). Well, I was just saying that it was about time to head home, when Michelle made a gross discovery. Abigail had pooed through her clothes. Luckily, Michele had a burp rag between Abigail and her clothes.

So, I loaded Abigail into her carrier (I had her sit on the already soiled burp rag to keep from spreading the nastiness)and headed home. As soon as we arrived home, I got all of the things together for a bath (she was going to have one anyways). It was nasty and by the time I placed her in the tub she was not happy. The moment her butt hit the water she peed in the water. So, I then had to start over with new water. With the new water, Abigail began to enjoy her bath and relaxed.

Now I have a sweet smelling baby who I think is ready for bed. Hopefully she sleeps through the night.

Finally...House Pictures!

Okay, these are not the best picures, but it will give you an idea of what some of the house looks like now that we are living in it. We are not totally unpacked and we have definitely not begun to decorate. But here are some pictures (I'll try to get the rest of the rooms on soon):

The study (we definitely need to get a new desk. This one has big gouges in it.):

Our bedroom (a view taken from the doorway, looking towards the bed):

A look from above of the great room (Look carefully, Abigail is sitting in her chair):

Vaccinations and Other New Stuff

On Thursday, Abigail had her 2 month doctor's appointment. It was a monumental occasion for both her and Mommy. At the visit, she received a liquid vaccine for the rotavirus and then three shots. She was fine for the rotavirus vaccine (of course), but it was a different story for the shots. When the nurse inserted the needle she was fine but then she began the injection. That is when the poor baby began to scream. I began crying as well. It broke my heart to see the look in her eye as she stared at me with pleading eyes while screaming. I'm glad she doesn't have to go through that again until her four month visit.

After the injections, she was fine until that evening. She then began to have a fever and became very fussy. On Friday, she was still fighting a fever, was very fussy and slept a lot. It was a lot of work for Mommy, but I didn't mind. By the time Jeromy arrived home for work she seemed to be feeling much better.

A few other things that we learned from the doctor was that we needed to stop feeding her in a "snacking" fashion. Abigail has developed a tendancy to eat a couple ounces and then wait an hour and eat another ounce and then eat another ounce after another hour. She informed us that we need to feed her and then make her wait at least three hours before letting her eat again. The idea is that Abigail will develop a set schedule for eating. Another new development is that we were informed that she should not be eating at all over night. Once we lay her down for bed, that is it. So, now we have to let her cry at night. That hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I thought it would be awful, but instead it has gone very smoothly. Jeromy has led the charge in this. On both Friday and Saturday nights (I didn't have the heart to start on Thursday since she was so out of sorts from the shots) she woke up a few times, but Jeromy just gave her the pacifier and turned on the "mommy bear" and she fell right back to sleep. We have been lucky in that she has not screamed for hours like some of the stories we have heard from other parents.

One more thing...she now weighs 11 pounds, 6 ounces and is now 22 inches long!!!! She is in the 50 percentile in both weight and height.
