Our Scrapbook

I've had a lot of people ask me about the pages that we submitted to be in "The Book." I am horrible at scrapbooking and I was very worried about this. But, then I lucked out and was invited to a scrapbooking party. My friend, Rhonda (who is a scrapbooking genius)helped me out huge and put the book together. Check here for that entry. Anyways, I've talked about it, but it has been pointed out that I have not posted any pictures. So, here are pictures of the final product and what birthmothers will look at while making decisions. Keep in mind that I took these with my phone so they are not the best quality.

Weight Watchers Update

I am really excited! Today when I weighed in, I was very happy to find that I have lost...5 pounds this week! That means in the past few weeks I have lost 7.6 pounds! How wonderful!

I think weight watchers must be one of the best weight loss programs. It actually helps you to break old habits that were bad for you and create new good habits. For example, tonight Jeromy and I went to a book club meeting and there were a lot of delicious foods. Even though I had the points and could have grazed a little bit, I stayed with the healthier choices such as veggie trays. I definitely would not have done that a couple months ago. It is change, but I am improving.

New Ticker

I have noticed on a few adoption blogs a really cute ticker. I thought it would be fun to see how long we wait for our little one. So, today I added the ticker at the top of the page. I based the starting date on when I knew our paperwork was completed and we were in the book. Hopefully the wait won't be too long.

The Life and Times of Alex and Elena

Okay, I have decided that this is what this blog should be called at times. Maybe, I should teach Kelly how to make one (what do you think Kelly Jo?). Anyways, this past week Kelly, Monny, Mom, and the kids traveled to California to visit my grandpa, his wife, my great-aunt Lenora and Disneyland. Here are some pictures that were sent to me via Mom and Kelly's phones.

When I talked to them yesterday, Elena was very excited about meeting many princesses and Alex was excited to share that he met Captain Jack Sparrow. Also, they both shared that either Chip or Dale (I can't remember which one) drank Alex's pop while they were eating dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. I understand the trauma. Chip and Dale traumatized me when I was around Alex's age at Disneyland. They untied my hair ribbon.

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

On Friday night, Kelly and my mom joined Laura, Andy and his parents at a tasting for their reception. Jeromy and I volunteered to watch Alex and Elena so Kelly could enjoy her night out. For something a little different, we took the kids to the movies to see the new Veggietales movie The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. It was a very good movie. However, I think the cheese puffs that attacked Mr. Lunt were a bit too much for Elena. While laying down with her at bedtime she announced that she would never eat Cheetos again.

All in all, it was a great evening with the kids. After the movie, we ate dinner at Wendy's and then went back to my mom's house where the kids were going to spend the night. They played in the bathtub for a little bit and then off to bed. Alex (and Jeromy) fell asleep almost immediately, while Elena took a bit longer.

In other news, I lost a little over 3 pounds my first week on weight watchers. I don't think I will do as well this week. I haven't worked out as much as I did last week. I'm still getting back on track with exercise. It's just a matter of setting up habits. I guess I just need to give it time.

Dieting or a Lifestyle?

Well, I finally did it. I joined Weight Watchers tonight. Kelly has been urging me to join with her, so I took the plunge tonight. I'm really excited about this. Now that I will hopefully be getting on track with working out and watching what I eat,I have huge hopes for getting into shape. I hope to lose 60 pounds this year. That would get me to my goal weight. By the way, for all you weight watchers fans, I get 30 points. This is going to be a huge transition!
