We Met Sarah Palin!

This morning Mom, Kelly, Alex, Elena and I headed to a press conference for Sarah Palin. Kelly has been very active working on the McCain campaign and had received four tickets to Palin's rally in Bowling Green. But, then, last night she was given the opportunity for us all to go to the press conference. At that point, she got a fifth ticket so Alex could go. So, shortly after 8:00 this morning we arrived at the company Xunfire (they manufacture solar panels)in South Toledo and waited in line to enter. Only 100 people were on the list to enter.

All of the pictures posted here are from Kelly's camera. My camera's battery died at the end of the rally, so I'm waiting for the battery to charge.

Another House Update

Yesterday we stopped by the house to see what had been accomplished over the weekend. Yes, I said the weekend. The driveway was full of vans and trucks all weekend long. Well, the cabinets were finished, the laminate flooring was down, and the brick around the fireplace was finished as well. A lot can happen in a few days. I did not take any more pictures of the cabinets, but I did take pictures of the floor and fireplace:

The fireplace is not complete. Obviously, there is a mantle and there will be a wood surround as well.

This isn't the best picture of the floors. They are very dirty right now so it is hard to see.

Today, Jeromy is working so he had me stop by to see what was accomplished. It seems it is time for the concrete to be laid. They have framed the driveway, sidewalk, and front porch. Here the questions I took of that:

Baby Update

Okay, I've had people ask for news on the baby since all I seem to write about is the house. Little Abigail is doing great! We did have a scare last week. It's a long story, but I will preface it by letting you know that she is okay.

On last Tuesday, I went to Meijer's to pick up a few things. As I was leaving I went to put my cart in the cart corral (unlike the lazy people who leave it by their car two spaces away from the cart corral). Anyways, I noticed that the lip to keep the carts in place was pretty high so I gave the cart a good heave-ho to push it over. Well, the cart did not go over. Actually, it went to a dead stop and I rammed by poor tummy into it. To be completely honest, I wasn't very concerned at first. It didn't hurt hardly at all and I know the uterus is made to withstand a lot. But, as the day progressed on Wednesday it began to hurt more and more. At around 10:20 (between two periods) I called Jeromy and told him about it and asked what I should do. He said I should call the doctor since they would put me on a monitor if I came into the ER. So at 11:05 (I had to wait until the end of class), I called the doctor. They wanted to see me at 1:00 that afternoon. So, I ran around school organizing a sub and preparing lesson plans, picked up Jeromy, and headed to the other side of town. I was examined and given a nonstress test and it was determined that Abigail was okay. I must have just bruised myself.

I told you it was a long story. That is all that has happened in the world of Abigail. Except that she seems to be moving around a lot.

More House Stuff!

I stopped by the house this afternoon with Mom, Alex, and Elena. The Wells guys were getting ready to leave after doing a lot of work on the cabinets. Here are where the cabinets are so far:

Laundry room (yes, that's Alex hiding in the cupboard):

Kitchen:

The tile company had also done a lot of work on the shower in the master bathroom. It was hard to take a picture because it was dark, but I think the picture came out good.

Also, the pool company have finally closed the pool!

More Paint and Floors

Before Jeromy left for work today we went over to the house to see where they were. Yesterday, they had painted the rest of the bedrooms. I didn't have the camera with me and my phone did not take good pictures of the paint color. Here is what I got today:

Master Bedroom:

Abigail's room:

First Spare Room:

Second Spare Room:

The floors in the master bathroom have been laid. I wasn't able to get great pictures because they had it blocked off. But here are the pictures of the floor and the shower floor:

In the garage, we found that they had delivered the doors, steps, and banisters. Here are some pictures of that:

They were also there working on the cabinets. They said that they should be finished tomorrow. I should have pictures then. Also, we were told that they would be laying the flooring in the kitchen tonight. The fireplace will be bricked on Saturday. Things are really flying!

Things are Really Flying Now!

Mom and I ran over to the house today to see what had been accomplished and were pleasantly surprised to see that the cabinets were in. Here are some pictures that I took:

We have Floors!

Okay, I couldn't think of a better title. Anyways, we stopped by this evening and discovered that they had laid the floors in both the laundry room and upstairs bathroom. The subfloor for the tile in the master bathroom has also been laid. One last exciting thing has also happened. Our cabinets have arrived. They are in the garage and tomorrow they will begin installing them. From what I understand, we will have many picture updates this week! Here are the pictures from today:

The Showers Begin!

Today was our first baby shower! Yes, I said first. We have one more in Dayton on Nov. 1st and one at school on Nov. 18th.

Anyways, this was the shower that my mom and sisters planned. The shower was held at our new church building. Here are some pictures:

Can you tell from the decorations that we are having a girl?

We received a lot of great gifts! I told Jeromy that I can't wait until Abigail is here so we can use everything. Actually, I think I'm more excited about her imminent arrival (is that even possible). It was nice to see that so many people care about us and are so excited about little Abigail's arrival!

Kelly with Aunt Angie

Didn't Nanci do a wonderful job with the cake!?

Elena was a huge help while opening presents. Actually she was so efficient that I didn't even know what I had received. When we got everything home we went through it so we could appreciate everything. Then we packed it backed up and hauled it over to storage. I can't wait until the house is done so we can set up the nursery!

Finally...A Picture Update of the House

Yesterday my mom and I stopped by the house and discovered that they had begun painting the house! Unfortunately, I did not have my camera so I was unable to take pictures. Today we returned and this time we had the camera. There were now more rooms painted and they had laid the hardwood in the foyer and study. How exciting!

Here are some pictures of the hardwood:

I can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow!

Leaving Las Vegas

On Sunday evening Jeromy left for Las Vegas. He had a conference there that helped him to review for his boards. I was unable to go, of course. Anyways, it is about six o'clock there now so Jeromy is probably eating dinner. They (he has some friends from residency that he is hanging out with) are leaving for the airport around eight. He is taking the red eye home and I will pick him up from the Detroit airport tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. Here are some pictures he sent me of the strip:

A New Picture of Abigail

Yesterday, I had an appointment for an ultrasound and my first non-stress test. Abigail currently weighs 3.5 pounds! She's growing right on schedule. Here is one of the pictures they gave me:

That is her arm in front of her face. At one point, she was playing with her toes. She is so cute!

After the ultrasound, we had our first non-stress test. She must have been tired yesterday, because she was not moving. We almost failed. The nurse, Lynn, brought me some apple juice hoping to stir her up. After a while, it worked. I think she was just being stubborn. Today, she was moving all over the place. I hope she behaves better on Thursday when we go for another test.

Concrete and Texture

Okay, I know that is a weird title. We went to check out the house this afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had completed the concrete around the pool. Here is a picture I took with my phone:

Yes, there is a ladder in the middle of the pool. We don't know why it is there and what the purpose of it is.

After checking out the pool, we went inside to see what they had accomplished on the walls. It seems that a lot of texturing has been completed. Hopefully by Monday and Tuesday they should be finished with that portion of the work. Once again, I did not take pictures because they did not look exciting because they are still white walls.
